Exotic hard wood

All Para Rosewood is milled in South America because it is more cost effective. Boards are usually 1-7′ lengths and 2 1/4″ to 5″ widths as to fit into shipping containers. Longer lengths can be obtained if needed, but this can double the cost because raw lumber must be shipped to the U.S. and milled there. This type of lumber is rare and taxed heavily to support the South American economies.

  • Select and Better grade is the only grade available because of the nature of the wood. It is color sorted for a rich orange and tan with black and brown streaks. Color variations are desired within this species, so it is graded differently than other species.
