Most Peruvian Walnut is milled in South America to save on cost. Boards are usually 1-7′ lengths and 2 1/4″ to 5″ widths as to fit into shipping containers. If long lengths are desired, it must be milled in the U.S. This can double the cost because of labor and waste. Also, this raw lumber is taxed heavily to support the South American economy.

  • Clear grade is color sorted for a deep brown color. This is typically the only grade available. Only the heartwood is used in this grade.
